This piece is MADE TO ORDER and lead time is around 5 weeks. Each piece is wheel thrown and hand painted, so there may be very slight variations in glaze flow and shape, though consistency is always my goal.
This ceramic urn is designed to blend beautifully with your home, while giving you space to celebrate the life of the person who passed. The overall design is meant to appear like a vase, but the top of the piece is fully sealed, creating a small dish for trinkets, notes, candles, or anything you'd like to honor the memory of your loved one. The inside of the urn is accessed through the bottom, which is sealed with a fitted rubber cork.
This urn fits approximately 80 cubic inches. A good rule of thumb when choosing an urn is that one pound of body weight will equate to 1 cubic inch of ash. This isn't a precise equation, but it may help in guiding your decision.
The outer dimensions of this urn are approximately 8 inches tall, and 5.25 inches wide at the base.
Each piece is entirely handmade by me. I throw, construct, and trim each urn in my home studio in Portland, Oregon. It is then fired and glazed with a beautiful combination of sea foam and olive green colors. This piece is fired to high temperatures, ensuring its durability and longevity.
